General Gameplay
When you start a new game, you are presentend with the tactical map. It is your main game screen from where you will plan all your actions and see your empire grow as you win more and more battles. You will notice four main interface elements which will always be present throughout your games. First off, the top bar will present you with the name of the current faction playing or the currently selected country, as well as the current game date and possibly a chat button when you play a network game. On the bottom of the screen, three buttons will be present. The left button represented by a flag will allow you to skip your turn (as this game is a turn-based strategy game). The right button will toggle the bottom tab bar which will present advanced games options as well as the main menu button. The center button is a special feature which allows you to toggle visual status bars next to country flags in order to get a quick glance at where your troops are and where your defences are weak.

You can zoom in and out the map either by pinching with two fingers or by double tapping the screen with one finger. Pinching will allow for precise zooming whereas double-tap will quickly toggle two standard zoom levels (full view and country view). After a certain level of zoom, flags will appear for countries controlled by factions. You will also see sub-flag icons for countries that are either starting countries or where a supply center and/or the AWFDS (fortification) has been built. Finally, if it has been activated, country status bars will appear as well only when the zoom level is sufficient.

You can select a country by simply tapping inside its borders with a single finger. You will see its borders turn red and its name will appear in the top bar of the screen. Moreover, if this country is one of your faction's countries, an action bar will also appear on the right side of the screen. To deselect a country, either tap inside its boundaries again or tap on the sea. If you are having difficulties selecting a country, just zoom in the map in order to make the selection easier. Remember that the country-view zoom level is not the maximum zoom level and you can pinch the screen in order to get more zoom.

When you select a country controlled by your faction, the action bar appears on the right side of the screen. It allows you to plan different type of actions for this country. From top to bottom, the buttons are "Move Action", "Buy Action", "Country Upgrades" and "Country Information". Note that the Buy button will be enabled only if your country is a starting country or has a supply center. When you click the Move button, it becomes green and you are ready to select a destination country. Simply tap inside the boundaries of the country where you want to move your troops and a move action window will pop up. From there, just set the quantity of units of each type you want to move. When you're done, click the confirm button on the lower right corner of the screen. If you want to cancel a move action, just click the cross on the lower left boundary of the screen. If the Buy button is enabled, tap it and it will show the Buy action window. It functions the same way as the Move action window. The "Country Upgrades" button will pop up a window presenting you with the different upgrades available for this country. Just select one of the upgrades on the top tab bar and click the Buy button if available. This will add a buy action to the Action Queue. You can cancel it by either tapping again the button which now show "Queued" or by removing it directly from the Action Queue. When all country upgrades are built in a country, the "Country Upgrades" button will turn green. The "Country Info" button will present you with three different information about this country : its garrison with exact troops numbers, its resources and the exact cash per turn amount you gain from this country and its infrastructure listing the built upgrades.

When you are done with your actions, just click the "Skip Turn" button in the bottom left corner of the screen in order to advance phase. You will see the results of your actions through animated battles. If you want to skip those battles, tap once the screen to skip the current animation or double tap the screen to skip all animations.

Advanced Gameplay
When you show the bottom tab bar (by clicking the bottom left arrow button), you get access to advanced functions. Here are the buttons from left to right : Skip Turn, Action Queue, World Upgrade, Spy Action, General, Main Menu and Hide Tab Bar. The Action Queue will give you a detailed list of all actions you planned for this turn. You can scroll through those actions and remove them. To remove an action, either swipe your finger on this action or click the button on the top right of the Action Queue. Then press the red "Delete" button next to the action you want to delete.

The World Upgrade window allows you to get information about your world upgrade. If you have sufficient funds, you will be able to buy it. As with almost every other actions, your buy action will be queued and will be effective next turn. For the "Manhattan Project" upgrade, in order to launch the nukes, just open the world upgrade panel after it has been built and you will have access to a Nuke button. Press it and it will send you back to the tactical map to pick a target country. Just click inside the boundaries of an enemy country to order a nuke. Once again, this event will be queued and will be processed after you skip your turn. When in target mode, just hit the sea to cancel your nuke action.

The Spy Action window gives you access to a set of strategic assets to analyze and destabilize enemy positions. All players will get access to both "Intelligence" and "Bribery" panels. The European Democratic Federation, through its world upgrade "00 Agents" will get access to a specific spy action called "Hit". The "Intelligence" panel allows you to gather precious information about an enemy country. To use it, simply click "Target" and then tap on a country you want to spy on. It will give you access to its garisson, its resources and its infrastructures. Please note that countries where Spezial Polizei has been built cannot be spied on, though you will not know it until you try to gather intelligence from these countries. The "Bribery" panel enables you to bribe a country for one turn, reducing its overall defence by 50%. It functions the same way as "Intelligence". Once again, bribery cannot be used on countries with upgrade Spezial Polizei. Finally "Hit" let you chose the enemy General you want to take down. This special action will disable the bonus relative to that specific General for a full year.

The General window gives you details about your General, game objective and medals you have been awarded. Medals which have not been awarded yet are grayed out. You can scroll through all available medals and you can tap on any of it, awarded or not, to get its precise description and conditions of obtaining.
